The Burnaby Steelers are pleased to announce that Aangid Manhas (Coquitlam, BC) will captain the team for the 2026-27 season.
The 2008-born forward has dressed in 75 regular season and four playoff games since joining the organization in the 2024-25 campaign.
“It’s an honour to be the captain of an organization with this much history…it’s a big responsibility and I’m looking to grow each day and rise to the task,” he said.
Mamhas took over captaincy duties from Colby Longeau who aged out of junior hockey at the end of last season with Manhas serving as an alternate captain that year.
“We as a team are proud to have Aangid Manhas as our captain. He is an exemplary member of the group, who is going to impact each of our players. He competes to win because he clearly cares and he backs it up with what he can do on the ice,” said Steelers Head Coach Kyle Johnson.
The Steelers open the 2026-2027 season in Langley this Saturday and play their home opener the following day.
